Multiplayer Modular Weapon System

Multiplayer Modular Weapon System

Introduction

Welcome to the Multiplayer Modular Weapon System, an add-on that brings the Modular Weapon System and the Modular Health System online with Netcode for GameObjects.

The server decides every hit and every health change, so it works for co-op and for PvP without trusting the clients. Your weapons don’t change: you add a few network components to your prefabs and they work in multiplayer.

πŸ”§ Key Features

  • NetworkWeapon syncs the active weapon, barrel, magazine and trigger. The owner fires right away, and other players see the same shots
  • NetworkHealth lets only the server change health, while clients still show hits and death effects
  • NetworkAutoSpawn spawns projectiles, drops and effects on the network from a plain Instantiate
  • Works with Weapon, DualWeapon, UpgradableWeapon and any barrel, magazine or firing mode
  • A lobby with a session list, using Unity Multiplayer Services (Lobby and Relay)
  • Two multiplayer examples: co-op Duck Shooter and the Blueprint weapons for up to 8 players

πŸš€ What Can You Build?

  • Co-op shooters where every player has their own upgradable weapon
  • PvP arenas where the server decides who got hit
  • Networked projectiles, rockets and explosions

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Who Is This For?

Unity developers who already use the Modular Weapon System and want to take their weapons online, without writing the networking for each weapon themselves.
